About the Recipe

Ingredients
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 medium yellow onion
1 tablespoon minced garlic
2 teaspoons minced ginger
1 ½ pounds ground chicken
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ large green cabbage-cored and thinly sliced
2 large carrots-peeled and shredded
½ cup low sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons lime juice-fresh squeezed
Optional garnishes-chopped spring onions and sesame seed
Preparation
Step 1
Heat a large wok or frying pan over medium heat and add the sesame oil and onion. Cook until the onion becomes translucent.
Step 2
Then add the garlic and ginger and cook for 1-2 minutes, or just until fragrant.
Add the chicken and sprinkle in the salt and pepper. Cook through. Drain the excess liquid from the pan and return to the heat.
Step 3
Add the cabbage and carrots. Pour in the soy sauce and stir until combined.
Step 4
Cover and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally or until the cabbage and carrots become soft.
Step 5
Pour in the lime juice and serve with fresh spring onions and sesame seeds.
